The Burning House Story... The band acquired its name when their drummer's house burned down on the night of their first job in 1991, and he showed up to play anyway. Then on job #2 there was a fire next door to the club where Burning House was playing! Over the first year, there were over 14 fire related events, from burning houses, to outdoor tents and everything in-between so... the band members took this as a sign and named the band accordingly... to this day they strongly advocate fire insurance!

Burning House Band was the brain child of Lee Auchenbach (Bass & vocals) and John Mascarini (Drums & Leader) in 1989 who back in the late 1980’s were performing together in a band called “Lynx”. They had an idea to create a really big sounding band with a real horn section with lots of vocals that could perform any style of music as long as it was a #1 hit from that artist. But the real secret ingredient was we added our special feel to that song making it uniquely ours by changing the arrangement or adding horns to it

A simple but bold idea considering what was going on in the live music scene at that time. No one was carrying a horn section back then because you could not afford to pay a band with allot of members plus the there was never enough stage space and most clubs were making the conversion to a DJ format rather than live bands. Let’s not forget that back then there were “oldie bands” but they were playing the 50’s style songs and then you had bands covering top 40 dance tunes but no one was focused on the great songs from the 60’s and 70’s.

When we first started, we knew we had something different and we caught on immediately. Within a few years, bands were being formed who copied our set list but none were able to discover our secret that we selected songs not because we liked them, but because they would make people say, wow, I used to love that song. We took our fans on a trip back in time but gave it a fresh sound. We used to joke that we were the AC/DC of Soul Motown music; we played those songs as if they were from new songs from today, with big bass and drums not like old songs from yesterday.

We are a Soul, Motown and Dance Rock Band that continues the tradition to perform the number one dance hits form the 60’s and 70’s plus add a special touch to each song to make it ours. From time to time, we pull out some really great classics from Santana, Buddy Miles or others that really make people just have to get up and dance.

BURNING HOUSE BAND is a high energy dance band performing the best number one hits from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and more. We supply our own sound, lights and transportation for average size events. Burning House can perform 1, 2 or 3 - shows per night. The band is based in Lebanon, PA and some members have performed with various club, regional and national acts. This is a great dance band which is based on Soul, Motown, R&B, Disco with the power of Rock & Roll. Because of the size of the band, the stage area is important to our show and require a 16' X 24' area or larger. We accept all types of private events including fairs, weddings, corporate events, dinner dances, holiday parties, etc.
